Mission Statement

Irish Shotokan Academy is a non profit organization that has been teaching traditional karate-do in Ireland and was founded and is led by sensei Liam Gorman and sensei Gerard McCarthy and later joined by sensei Alberto Candeias.

Our Mission is:

"To preserve, perpetuate, and advance the legacy of Shotokan Karate for the betterment of the lives of those who train, and to contribute positively to human history."

To provide to the local community, high quality Karate in a family oriented environment and to ensure that Karate training Training remains affordable and enjoyable.

To promote mutual support among its members and the advancement of Martial arts.

To foster and develop Shotokan as a martial art.

To promote and support the principles of good practice and ideas of Shotokan.
